LX2 is located down a private road with only about 7 other homes on it. A kind of privacy not often available around the lake. Along the lakeside of Majestic Lake Tahoe, Historic Glenbrook, Nevada, on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe, epitomizes the qualities of a rural lakeshore community. Historians believe that Mark Twain first viewed Lake Tahoe from the meadow where Glenbrook Creek flows into the lake. Upon viewing the lake, Twain declared that it was " the fairest picture the whole earth affords." Only 150 acres of Glenbrook's 750 acres have been developed. Nearly 600 acres remain undisturbed, offering homeowners serenity as well as unique recreational opportunities. Glenbrook and Cedarbrook History is the oldest settlement on Lake Tahoe, Glenbrook played a significant part of Nevada's statehood as the main supplier of timber to the Comstock Lode and Virginia City. The first settlers of the valley, which included Captain Augustus W. Pray, arrived in 1860. Pray built a sawmill in 1861. The community took its name from the former "Glenbrook House hotel", which in turn was named after two primary local geographic features Glen, a secluded valley, and Brook, a small stream. From forested areas near the lake, logs were driven downstream or barged to Glenbrook mills. In 1875, the town had four sawmills, a store, a bowling alley and billiard hall, two hotels. After 1880, logging activity was in decline and was abandoned by the end of the century. This is not only a historical area but an exclusive development is arguably the most private and exclusive enclave in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Known for maintaining a unique balance of exquisite properties, open land, stunning views, and abundant wildlife, it is an experience only a select few get to share. 1-2 portable AC units are provided upon request.
