Pets are not allowed without written approval and must be provided at least 48 hours prior to arrival. If written approval is not obtained and you come with a pet you are subject to a $1000 fine and you will be made to leave with no refund. Approval is at the sole discretion of the owner and pet fees apply. No Cats Allowed.
If you have more than 6 adults you must also rent the house. While the guest house could sleep up to 10 people ie. 2-3 families of 3-4 with 6 adults, the limit of vehicles if the guest house is rented by itself is 3.
It s not appropriate for more than 6 adults and the max cars is 3 if the guest house is rented by itself.
The space.
Featured on the Discovery Channel! This home was built by one of the top log home builders in Minnesota with no detail missed. Perfectly located with amazing views of Fishhook River with quick and easy access from the dock directly to Fishhook Lake, the wooded countryside, and the heart of Park Rapids. The loft is 42x52. About 2200 sq ft. The 3rd is an open loft with no walls or doors with two single beds and a foldable room divider.
This home is connected to a larger circa 7000 square foot home. However, the spaces are completely separate and private. It has its own entrance, huge oversized garage, and it s own fire pit area.
Located just outside of Park Rapids, MN, if relaxation is on the agenda you can enjoy a day at the beach, take a quiet walk through Itasca State Park, book a private massage, dine at a variety of fine restaurants, or unwind in your own private sauna.
In addition to the stated cancellation policy, any credit/debit card processing fees will be deducted from the cancellation refund if a credit/debit card is used, generally around 3%.

We offer additional Pontoon Rental. We also hold a $500 damage Deposit per rental on the Pontoon. The rates are available below; Fuel, bring it back full or a fuel surcharge will be added.

Hi! We are thinking about renting your place for week in mid July. A few questions for you.
1). Dock. How far from house?
About 40 feet
2) Heartland trail. How far from house?
The Heartland Trail is about 2 miles from the house.
The Heartland State Trail was one of the first rail-to-trail projects in the country. It is a 49 mile multiple-use trail between Park Rapids and Cass Lake. The Heartland State Trail also connects with the Paul Bunyan State Trail system and other regional trail systems.
To connect from the Heartland Trail entrance closest to the house to the Paul Bunyan trail its about 23 miles.
3) Can you swim in the River?
The River is clean and clear. However, the area around the dock is a bit Marshy. When my kids and I want to swim at this home we take out the kayaks, there s a sandy beach park a short kayak ride away and there are a number of nice sandy areas on the lake for swimming. Please make sure to wear life jackets and that anyone that cannot swim is properly monitored. Swim at your own risk.
4) Parking?
We allow up to 2 vehicles at the guest house and up to 3 vehicles at the main house. The home has a large circular driveway, please make sure not to block the driveway.
There is room to park RV s or trailers, however, you must get permission, and you must not block the driveway.

6) How far is town?
One of the best parts of this home is you will feel like you are in the wilderness yet, you are only about 2 miles from beautiful Park Rapids Minnesota. Downtown Park Rapids is a picturesque lake town complete with great restaurants, coffee shops, movie theatres, candy stores, and bars.
Absolutely no smoking. Smoking fines start at $500
If you smoke fine is $500, if smoking bothers other guests you will be responsible for any compensation to guests.
CANCELLATION POLIC
Y AND PROCEDURES
Our cancellation policy is a 100% refund for cancelations at least 90 days in advance. 50% refund for cancellations at least 60 days in advance. If the guest cancels less than 60 days in advance, the nights not spent are not refunded. If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded. Cleaning fee refund only for cancellations within 60 days to arrival.
Our goal is to keep our prices as competitive as possible, in order to keep them competitive it s important that we avoid the losses that come from cancellations.
Owners of these properties depend on the income and last-minute cancellations result in lost revenue through vacancy and lower prices.
For those that don t like the risk that comes with cancellation policies, we strongly recommend you look into travel insurance.

If you didn t purchase the travel insurance offered, you will likely not get any refund.
To ask for an exception to our policy you must first cancel your reservation by sending us an email, or a text message. Exceptions are up to individual owners and are very rare. Your best chance is to ask for a credit to be used for a booking for the same property.
The credit can to be used within the window you cancelled. Ie. If you cancel 3 days before your stay and the owners payout is $4500, you didn t purchase travel insurance you may ask for a credit to be used to reserve the same property no more than 3 days before the drag you want to use the credit for.
Example request.
I had to cancel because my kids are sick. I didn t purchase the recommended travel insurance. My stay is 3 days away. I m requesting a credit for the owner payout amount to be used to reserve the same property 3 days before our stay. I.e, we want to stay August 23rd so I will make a request on August 20th if the unit is still available.
